At Summit Mountain Guides, we offer professional mountain guiding services and instruction for the vertically inclined. Our winter and summer programs include beginner to advanced mountaineering, backcountry ski touring, ice climbing, rock climbing, trekking and hiking trips.

We offer daily-guided programs or multi-day backcountry adventures throughout Western Canada and in Europe. Join us as an individual, group, with your family or staff team for training in avalanche awareness, ski touring skills, rock climbing and ropes rescue skills, ice climbing instruction or learn to mountaineer programs.

We provide our guests with professionally certified, internationally recognized and experience guides (IFMGA / ACMG) who take pleasure in helping you achieve your personal goals. Summit Mountain Guides optimize your time in the mountains by managing all safety and logistical aspects of your backcountry adventure.

Our skiing, climbing and hiking guides are experts in managing the pre-trip logistics, preparation and on trip. At Summit Mountain Guides we guarantee a low guest to guide ratio that ensures we can both maximize safety and offer you a truly personal and exciting mountain experience.

Summit Mountain Guides is based in the beautiful city of Nelson, British Columbia located in the heart of the Selkirk, Monashee and Purcell Mountains. Nelson is well recognized for its legendary deep powder, rock paradise for remote and classic alpine routes and variety of wilderness alpine hikes.
